Itinerary
Day 1, Monday: Arrival to Cape Town International Airport (CPT). Transport to the lovely ONCE hostel in the heart of the “Mother City.”
Day 2, Tuesday: Guided day tour to the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point – part of the Cape Floral World Heritage Site. Both locations are spectacular sights, covered in endemic foliage and home to breathtaking bays, beaches, forests, and rolling green hills and valleys – and all just 60km outside of Cape Town.
Day 3, Wednesday: Contributional work with children in the morning, either at a settlement or pre-school, to build sustainable organic gardens, followed by a visit to the District Six Museum in the afternoon.
Day 4, Thursday: Work with children in the gardens in the morning, followed by an afternoon trip to Table Mountain, one of the New Seven Natural Wonders of the World.
Day 5, Friday: Work with children in the morning. A trip to the theatre for dinner and a show in the evening.
Day 6, Saturday: A full-day wine tour, followed by a visit to the quaint town of Stellenbosch, among other attractions.
Day 7, Sunday: Township & Robben Island tour followed by a visit to the waterfront and a harbor walk in the afternoon.
Day 8, Monday: Leave Cape Town and witness the wild beauty of the famous Garden Route. After a full day in off-the-highway roads with stops and magic moments, we will arrive at Botlierskop Game Reserve, our home for the next six days.
Day 9, Tuesday: A full day safari drive in the spectacular reserve, home to the Big 5: elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard and rhino. Upon return, a special treat to revive body and soul, followed by dinner.
Day 10, Wednesday: A full-day trip to Oudtshoorn, in which we will visit the Cango Caves, a wildlife ranch, and an ostrich farm.
Day 11, Thursday: A full day in the Botlierskop Reserve including horseback riding in the reserve* and an end-of-day treat.
*Horseback riding can be swapped with an on-foot tour.
Day 12, Friday: A day trip to Mossel Bay – a morning scenic tour of the cliffs and caves, followed by a visit to the aquarium, a breathtaking shark cage dive and lunch on a boat. Dinner at Botlierskop.
Day 13, Saturday: Last day in Botlierskop – full day in the Reserve, a farewell drive in the reserve and a necessary visit to the Spa. Farewell dinner in Botlierskop.
Day 14, Sunday: Transfer to George Airport (GRJ ) for departure.
